I am terribly unhappy with my computer at work. Cannot see videos, cannot access Facebook and MSN, cannot even read Chinese! FML. So when I wanna blog and upload pics, I cannot upload those on FB unless I already saved them in a thumbdrive at home and bring the thumbdrive to work. Wth. Damn sian right.

Anyways. A short update on how I spent last week! (Lol okay like not very interesting but I dunno what else to blog about la huh.)

Thursday: Meetup with Shona the twinny! Had a really fruitful discussion session about club stuff, but an even more fruitful HTHT. LOL. It's so funny talking with twinny hahaha! And she also got me a bday present!

Sunday: Meetup with Mega and Daryl!! Walao super long never see these 2 dearies lahh. Mega not so bad cuz we went out on her birthday earlier this year. Daryl is like... ONE YEAR never see him liao!!! HAHA. Still the same though. As JOKE AS EVER. XD

Then the two soccer freaks got excited cuz the match between England and Germany started. We kept shifting around in the cafe to find the best spot to see the TV la, damn joke. Although I wasn't really interested in the match, it's still pretty amazing to see how SO MANY people crowded around the whole street to catch the match la!! The place was SO CRAZY CROWDED. I gotta admit, World Cup DOES bring the world together. Strangers congratulate each other when Germany scored and all. Damn funny.

Anyway, I was talking to some friends about the topic of 'dating' the other day when I was struck with some random thoughts.

I realize alot of girls, when you ask them what they are looking for in a partner, would tell you they want someone 'tall, atheletic, handsome, rich, got own car, lives in a private estate, got maid etc etc'. And I guess if you ask me now what I want in a guy I would also say the same stuff. I mean, it's natural what. It's wired into our DNA from prehistoric times to want to find the best mates with the best qualities. Like how we needed a strong man back then to be able to hunt for food, build shelter and produce equally strong children, we need a rich man now to afford a house, preferably with own swimming pool, to afford food, preferably in Ritz Carlton, and to afford tuition for our kids. (Or you can just find a smart hubby to produce smart kids, also can.)

But as time passes and we evolve, we have come to a stage whereby we are a little different from our cavemen ancestors. We started to have a little more of something we call 'emotions'. Back then females don't work in offices with a bitchy environment, don't compare who has more branded bags, and simply don't get THIS upset when our pet fish dies. When we feel trampled on and bullied, when we feel like the world has no place for us, when we feel we're fat and ugly, or even when we want someone to laugh with, who do we run to?

Yep, our bfs! And does it mean that if your bf is rich and handsome, he will also happen to care for you? Is it true that if he's rich and handsome, he would be able to tolerate all your nonsense, laugh at your stupid jokes and get what you are trying to say without you actually saying it?

I realize that in the end, for me at least, when it comes down to ACTUALLY dating, I place alot more emphasis on what I call 'feel' than just the guy's physical qualities.

Alot of people tell me 'feel' can be cultivated one. With time, people fall in love! Welll, maybe there is some degree of truth in that, but for me, I have this uncannily accurate sense of intuition whenever I first meet a guy. Or first chat with him. I WILL somehow be able to tell if the guy will always only be a friend, or if there is a chance we might be together someday. I know some people might think it's abit too fast to judge a possible relationship based on just the first interaction with the guy, but then it just works this way for me. Once I feel the guy will always only be a friend, I will stop trying to make things work for us. I mean, you shouldn't lead somebody on when you know you confirm won't fall for him already, right?

Basically, there are 3 categories in which I classify guys.

1) Totally cannot click.
This category is for guys whom I totally cannot communicate with. Not on the same wavelength, nothing to talk about with them. Usually these are the guys who have a completely different set of values from me. You know, those that think that if you go clubbing and get groped, it's your fault and not that molester's fault cuz 'who ask you go there in the 1st place?' Or those that say freakin stupid stuff like 'If you get molested, must be you wear too skimpy and act too inviting. Like, if you put a meat in front of a dog and the dog eats it up cuz cannot resist temptation, then it's the meat's fault what.' If you are one of these guys, f*ck you.

2) Friend friend!
This category is for guys whom I like hanging out with cuz they're basically nice, decent people that I can click with and joke and laugh with. They usually are more or less on the same wavelength with me, and we can get what each other is saying. Sometimes there might be differing views but we would respect each other's viewpoints and basically just get along very well. These are also the guys that get brutally honest with me and I actually don't mind when they say 'OMG why you become so much fatter??!' cuz I know they didn't intend to be mean but are just so comfortable with me they don't care about being politically correct anymore LOL.

3) The BF.
This category is for the guy that, obviously, knows me better than anybody else and reads my mind before I can say anything. The one that would be there when I fall or need support, who hears my bitching and watches my stupid actions and still love me no matter what.

And yep, I can actually tell from first interaction which category the guy I meet will fall under. If there is any possibility of him falling under category 3, I would know. Cuz if I meet such a guy, I get pretty strong indicators. Firstly, I would want to text him every single day. No matter how mundane the conversation gets, I'd still be interested in what he had for lunch. Secondly, I would want to see him all the time. First date would make me crave for the second, and then the third and so on. Thirdly, I'd think of him all day long. Whenever something funny or upsetting happens, he would be the first person I wanna tell. Conversely, if I feel like texting the guy only occasionally about certain things that concern him or only wanna ask him out for coffee when I'm bored, then obviously he only belongs to category 2.

There are so many obvious indicators that I really don't get how some girls can go on multiple dates with a guy and still say 'I don't really know how I feel about him. Ok lor, can get along lor. But dunno if I like him anot.' (Maybe they know and are just too shy to say it out loud that they like the guy la, I wouldn't know.) But sometimes worse, got gfs of mine GET TOGETHER with the guy already but can still say 'He's nice to me la. But I don't think I love him. See how lor. See how things turn out.' -.- Worse is when they say 'I doubt I really love him, but he's rich, smart and capable. He will provide for me well. I SURE love his car X)'

Actually, I really think that all girls have a radar. All girls KNOW, somehow, if they love a guy. If you find yourself wondering whether you love a guy, or thinking more about what present he's gonna give you next than thinking about him per se, or missing his car more than him when he's away, then I think that maybe you are a little too preoccupied with LOOKING at his physical qualities with your eyes, instead of SEEING who he really is, who you both really are as a couple, with your heart.

Whether we are eating together, shopping together, holidaying together(Bintan soon pls!), singing together, clubbing together, or even just bbm-ing, I am ALWAYS enjoying every single moment! Teehee!
